“If we do not transform our pain, we will most assuredly transmit it.”

Grief Support

A significant loss changes a person. Unlike a caterpillar’s metamorphosis, this type of human alteration should not occur in isolation.

As someone coping with a significant loss, you need and deserve to be seen, heard, and supported without judgment. I readily offer my compassion in these ways because witnessing clients transform through The Grief Recovery Method® (GRM) never ceases to move and humble me.

GRM is the best tool I have come across for helping people process grief, move forward from significant losses, and gain deeper self-awareness. It is powerful, effective (the only evidence-based grief support program), and perhaps most importantly, this program is a profound catalyst for connection… grievers need connection above all else!

In my own life, GRM has been nothing short of a gift.

A narrow mountain road passing through a large rock formation that creates a natural tunnel. The surroundings are rocky with some greenery and a clear blue sky.

About the program

WHAT: The Grief Recovery Method® is an educational and cathartic program that helps people transform their relationship to painful grief through introspective conversations. The grief can be caused by various types of interpersonal loss–death (including a pet)/ break-up, divorce/ estrangement/ any strained relationship.

HOW: Clients meet 1:1 with me with over seven sessions that include reflections on reading, writing, and relationship analysis exercises.

WHEN: Whenever someone has the willingness to “go deep” with support to process a loss and/or to get “unstuck,” if grief has taken hold over one’s life.

WHERE: Sessions are typically held over Zoom. In-person may be possible for local (Fairfield County, Connecticut) clients.

WHY: Because:

  1. As Richard Rohr says, “If we do not transform our pain, we will most assuredly transmit it,”

  2. Our culture is lacking in grief literacy; GRM equips clients with tools that can be applied to inevitable future losses, and

  3. GRM softens the sharp edges of a broken heart, leaving people feeling lighter.
